What is a Maltipoo?

The Maltipoo is a cross between the Maltese and the Poodle. Maltipoos are wonderful little lap companions. They are very sweet, yet intelligent and alert. In general they love most anybody and are good with dogs, but because they are so alert and small, they can like to bark. However this can be countered by training them while they are young. 

Temperament or Personality

Maltipoos are very kind, caring, and affectionate dogs. They make for wonderful little lap companions who love to be around their family. Their loving personality makes the Maltipoo a great family and therapy dog.

Exercise needs and size

Maltipoos are a very healthy breed and because of their little size they tend to not need a lot of exercise. However, it is good to take them for a daily walk to make sure they get fresh air & exercise. The average height for the Maltipoo is between 8 to 14 inches tall, and their average weight is between 5 to 20 pounds.

Coat and Color Characteristics

The hair of the Maltipoo is long and wavy, so they will definitely need daily brushing and regular grooming. Since the Maltese is white, most of our Maltipoos are light colored. Maltipoos are considered to be hypoallergenic because of the poodle parent, however, it is always recommended to spend time with them, before adopting, if you have allergies, to be sure they will not affect you.
