About Country Lane Paws

We are a young family who has a passion for dogs & puppies. My husband (Vernon) & I (Shannah) grew up with dogs & raising puppies. We both have fond memories of dogs we had as children, and we also helped our families with raising puppies. So in 2013 when we married, we joined our talents and love of dogs and began raising an occasional litter. We soon realized that this is something we really enjoy doing together, and decided we would like to do it on a larger more professional scale. It has been a journey of learning, fun, adventure, & of course, lots of hard work.

We now have a PA state licensed kennel that is impromptu inspected twice yearly, built with all the latest regulations-climate control, absolutely no cages, outdoor access.

Why is the health of our dogs so extremely important to us?  Number one- we believe it is not right to allow our dogs to suffer & to neglect their health, they can feel too! Number two- if we do not have healthy dams & sires, we cannot raise sound healthy puppies. Our licensed Veterinarian comes regularly to our kennel to inspect the health of our dogs and puppies. Our adult dogs are examined from head to tail twice a year & all our puppies before they go to their new homes. We also DNA genetically test all our adults through Paw Prints Genetics to ensure we are not passing on any inherited genetic diseases and follow a strict vaccination & parasite program.

How are our puppies socialized if we have a kennel? I begin handling them as soon as they are born and then as soon as they have their eyes open, I allow my young sons to hold them under supervision. At around 4 weeks, we begin bringing them into the house to be introduced to family life and the house. They romp and play with our children, sleep in our living room for nap time, and are allowed supervised playtime throughout the house. We want our puppies to be confident, happy, & easily be able to adapt to new surroundings.

Why did we choose the breeds we did? Miniature poodles have been our number one breed since we started. They are super smart and loving and best of all, non-shedding. Poodles when crossed with another breed pass on some of those wonderful qualities including the non-shedding and by crossing them to the Cavalier, Cocker Spaniel, & Maltese, you can now have a hypoallergenic dog. Our puppies are first-generation crosses, miniature or toy poodles with one of the 3 breeds (except for a very occasional litter of where the mother is a cockapoo or Maltipoo then we would have an F1b litter (3/4 poodle). Most of our purebred adult dogs are either registered with AKC or ACA. Even though we are crossing the breeds, we do our best to choose & raise dogs that are as close to their breed standard as we can.

Is red the only color we have? Red is our main color, but no, we do have some other colors as well, most of them are forms of red. We have apricots, tans, white with apricot, but best of all we like our dark vibrant red! Red is so stunning and outstanding!
